I have a 2000 Cherokee with an automatic transmission that I believe (from what a friend told me) has been rebuilt. Recently it's started being jumpy getting into gear whether it's drive, neutral or reverse. I did a transmission service on it about a month ago so I know that's not the issue. Any ideas?

 

If it goes into gear when the shifter is in neutral, it's either a linkage adjustment (easy fix), or, a problem with the internal valve body ( not an easy fix).
