I have a 99 xj with the 5 speed. It had a 3 inch aal lift on it with 31s when i bought it. I have since upgraded to a rc x series 4.5 with 32x11.50s. I noticed about a week after i installed my lift and transfercase i noticed this clicking sound when i put it in reverse like a horrible u joint moving back and forth. I took a roadtrip from north carolina to minnesota. I was at a buddies house and went through a snowbank, got stuck in the middle threw it in reverse i let out the clutch and it grinded right out. after i got it out i tried to go into reverse again and it will go for about a fgrind back out. When i lifted it and put the t case drop it did it bend a linkage or something? syncro? Im not sure any help would be appreciated.
