Tranny fluid change
Hey guys, I am getting ready to change out tranny fluid on a 99 cherokee sport with the 4.0 not sure what tranny is in it but it is a automatic. Didn't know if you would recommend changin the filter also and what type of tranny fluid to replace it with. I've never done this before so I just want to make sure its done right.

Dex/Merc III compatible fluid for the AW4.
You can drain the fluid in the pan (just like changing oil), but if you want to clean or replace the filter (basically a screen), the pan has to come down. That is more involved. SEARCH for a procedure or get a maintenance manual, which is always money well spent.
