Don't do the lift til you have the cash for the adjustable bar?

Many have drilled a new hole but at 4" i think you'll be very close to the brackets end that could weaken the mount.

Personally i'd wait to install the lift till you have all the proper components you need.

Ended up doing a 3.5" lift netting quite a bit more than I had anticipated. In the end the Jeep is much taller than advertised by RE. In the end if I were to get the XJ back on the road in a reasonable amount of time the lift required a new trackbar and steering while I was at it. I spent as much for the steering components as the lift. Now questioning if I exceeded the total value of the vehicle in the first place??? Oh well looks like it will be a keeper for a few more years.

BTW How are Currie steering components? I did not have time to look into them at the time.

Steering components were well worn out and most likely needed replaced anyway.

Most 4x4s have more money in them than they are worth. I had over 15000 in a 1989 Blazer. ( it was worth maybe 8000 if I would have sold it )

This isn't just the case with 4x4s. Any "toys" that get modded are typically not worth what you put into them. Its sad really, but can you put a price on complete bliss?
