Default Trackbar bolt ?

Hello everyone so I'm having some trouble with my trackbar. I will explain everything i did. First i couldn't get the trackbar off and ended up having to saw off underneath the trackbar mount bolt off . So that all that was left was the bolt and nut on top. Then i just tried to hammer it out the other way. I'm sure most of you know that dident work the end was to big to fit thew. Well i finaly got the nut off the bolt so now all thats sitting in there is the bolt .......but lol it wont come out and im kinda stuck as to how i can force it out. I thought maybe useing a C clap to push it out. But any sugestions would be greatly apresheated. I can take a pictuer if needed.

Stock trackbar? Try a pickle fork. You might be able to get a tie rod puller on it but im not sure. Usually once it's out, you can take a hammer and just wack the mount and it would fall out next time. Try that.

You are talking about the UPPER mount right? If so, try heating it. If you a small propane torch, just heat the area where the bolt is for a little bit. Then you can hit it with a hammer and it should come out. If you have no heat, PB it from up top and below, then use the C-clamp. This sounds like fun, too bad you aren't local. my kind of challenge. You could always take the upper mount off and then have more room to work on it. post the pics!!

You are pushing it down right? Its tapered from what i remember, which means its not gonna come out through the top.

I know obvious question, but just checkin.

To get that out, you are going to have to push it from the top. A c-clamp might work but it will probably be a pita. You can also remove the whole bracket from the frame which might give you the room to beat on it with a hammer with the bracket in a vise or something.

You might have to remove your coil spring to get that bolt or use an open end wrench. Heck just start tearing it down now and get that bracket off. Do you have a ball joint press by any chance? You might be able to fit one end of the ball joint press over the top of that trackbar stud and then a socket over the buttom that was just cut. The press should force it out into the open socket as you tighten it.

Halobeast, I had similar problems with different cherokees. I snapped the bolt at the pinned end on the trackbar (passenger side). Since the bracket is only @1/8 thick steel, I put a pry bar between the bracket and bar end and bent the bracket up until I was able to remove the fixed end. After cutting off the nut, I bent the bracket back down with a hammer until the opening fit the end.

On the ball joint end, I used to remove the whole bracket to get the tie rod end out. After removing the air cleaner assembly, I was able to remove the two bolts with a swivel socket and open end wrench. The bolt behind the spring I was able to use a long extension and socket to loosen the bolt. This one sometimes needs both a socket and open end wrench. If the coil spring is in the way, Don't remove it, That is way tooo time consuming. I would jack up the frame behind the drivers wheel and this should place weight on the spring and cause it to expand enough to get a swivel socket on the bolt and loosen it. Thank the whole assembly to a vice and heat, cut, grind the nut off, what ever it takes. I think they give you new nuts with the replacement trackbar.
