ok so i posted just a little bit ago about my front end grabbing.. got some good responses and after some checking and eventually taking it to a shop today i figured out that the track bar is loose and causing the whole front to shift causing me to swerve down the street. any way i came home and called the auto part guys and went down to get a new one with the bushings already in it well theirs have a ball joint on one side and mine is just a straight bar with two even holes with bushings has anyone ever seen this set up.. can i just replace the bushings?.. sorry if this is dumb this is my first jeep and any help would be appreciated

the passenger side mounting looks the same as the drivers side just a bolt straight through but there is no nut on the other side

you have what is known as a double sheer track bar. many people run them. Take measurements of the ID and width of the bushing as well as the bolt it uses. Take that information down your auto parts store or a 4x4 shop. or ballistic fabrications (online) carries bushings like that as well.

Hope you get it figured out

btw the one that you bough is a stock one. and you can not use it as you dont have the mount for it

is there anyway that the track bar itself is bad i looked it over no cracks or anything.. just replacing the bushings will do the trick? do i need a press to replace the bushings.. is there a way to tell how much of a lift i have.. and whats the point of having the double sheer track bar is it better for wheeling?

to figure out your lift measure from the top of your front axle tube (not the knuckles or steering components but the actual tube) to the bottom of the frame rail.

stock front is 6 3/4"
stock rear is 6"

anything more than that is your lift.

And it should just be a rubber bushing. pop the old one out (or cut it) push the new one in. The use of sockets and grease helps to push them in.

It did come with the lift. Take your lift measurement and the bushing measurements and post them back on here i will get you a link to where you can buy new ones

bushings like these poly ones are normally about $10-$13 each

Or you may want to replace that trac bar, it is not a very effective design. It would work better if it had a bend at the lower section. Like this...

The bend allows for a better match to the steering and will increase the amount of 'flex' out of the front end. That one there looks like some odd home brew setup, most definitely outside of the normal trac bar design.

double sheer is stronger. I replaced my tracbar with an adjustable with a tre (i think thats what the end is called) wheeled it once and now I have all sorts of troubles. Waiting on the replacement doublesheer end and bracket. If you do replace it save yourself the trouble and go with another double sheer
