The title says it all. I've had one hell of a time getting this project completed. I bought an angle grinder to seperate the bar from the mount, now I'm dealing with this.
I had a friend bring his propane torch last night an I don't think it was putting enough heat on the bolt. So I got a nice MAPP gas torch. I'm waiting for it to cool off before I stick my new c clamp on it. Broke the old one on this pain in the ***. Anything that I may be missing here?

Heated the bolt up to cherry red hot, and nothing. Busted another c clamp on it. How the hell can it be this difficult?

ive heard of several people having trouble with them, the most common solution seems to be to get a new bracket and junk the old one so as to not fool with removing the bar.

Take the bracket off of the "frame"
Once out you can get at the nut on top, get it off. Cut it, torch it, unbolt it whatever.
A few good whacks down with a BFH should do the trick.
Remember the TRE "bolt" is tapered. If you cut the bottom off, and try to hit it up you are going against physics and making it tighter. The frame side mount, and all the crap around it make getting the right amount of force in the right direction a big pain in the butt.
Take it all off, do it on the bench, and your golden

mdcmn7 is correct, but cutting it off you just screwed yourself unless you can get the nut off the top and whack it downwards.
Ive got one bolt left on the bracket, and of course the coil spring is in the way. What a way to spend an entire weekend. Two bolts to a track bar. Of course I said "what an easy job".
Get used to it. Almost every job on these trucks will take 3 times as long as you thought it would...it's never easy.
PS, the castle is off and has been off since I started. It's simply getting the bolt through. Retainer clip is off also.
Got her done finally. I had to remove the mount, saw off the rear bolt for the mount since the steering rod and coil spring were in the way. Bought a new bolt and nut. It took an hour after removing the mount. What finally worked was heating it up until it was red hot, then dumping it in water. I then stuck the back side of a hammer in there and boom, popped out with no force.
