So what should have been a 30 minute install is proving to be a PITA. As soon as I removed the factory tracbar the the body of the Jeep decided it did not want to stay centered over the front axle. The body shifted to the passenger side about 6 inches, I have tried to jack up the body/axle/etc to re center the axle under the Jeep but with no luck.

Anyone else ever have this problem? Anybody have a solution or idea worth trying?

do u have a lift? try having someone turn the wheel while
your under jeep to line up. 6in is a lot off center!!
i have a brand new rc adjustable trac bar thats for 4-6in
of lift for sale if ur interested? but why are u removing bar
anyhow? just curious? haha

Yeah the Jeep is lifted around 6 inches with the IRO long arm kit, I had a factory tracbar on the jeep and have a IRO double shear tracbar kit that I have been putting off installing.

Put the new one on and it will re-center. Just make sure you adjust it out far enough.

I understand that it will re center with the new bar installed...b/c that is what it is there to do. The body is is off center so much that with the bar installed up on the body end, the axle end of the tracbar does not line up with the hole in the bracket on the axle.

try the steering wheel thing if you rock it back and forth it will bring it closer but it may not get all of that 6 inches?

might take a couple of buds to help you get it over.
but should work.

i just had a problem with mine this weekend when i put my 3 inch lift on
i had to get someone to help they turned the wheel all the way while i was underneath and reconnected it

had same issue, did exactly what the others here are saying. Have someone inside the jeep and move the steering wheel and it should line up. Push the bolt thru then they can get out and hold the trouble light for you :-p

Ok I will give it a try. I am surprised that the springs don't just hold the body where it is supposed to be...

You can use ratchet straps between the body and axle to move it where you need it if you have no friends or don't feel like sharing beer to get their help.

Just curious but how far did the body of your jeep shift over? Did it shift to the passenger side?

cant remember exactly, i think it moved about 4" or so and to passenger side sounds right because the more lift, and fixed length trackbar will move the axle towards driver side.
