Trac lok/ Rear disc conversion

I have a new trac lok but need a rear diff for my Cherokee... my question is if I find a diff with a worn out trac lok can I put mine without any shimming?
2nd question I want to install the grand Cherokee rear disc brakes on my xj but I also have abs what is needed to install everything properly/ parts

I take it you have a D35.
Every time the differential's bearings or gears are replaced you MUST reset it for a proper gear pattern. In the Dana axles, this is done with shims. If you have a limited slip already then servicing it will be much cheaper than swapping the carrier.

Wasn't sure if I needed to shim but was hoping I didn't have to..... There aren't really to much details on the rear disc brake conversion with the abs want to do everything while the diff is out
