Default TPS SENSOR

Are tps sensors going bad a common problem with the 4.0? i think mine is going bad cause its starting to shift harder and a differant times.

changed mine at 108k miles. started shifting funny and then went into limp mode.

Where you can't even tell weather it has shifted or not.I replaced mine to,they are pretty cheap.

$90 + is not cheap...... a used one from a parts yard may be cheap, but not brand new one...

They are easy to change. Just be sure to use wd-40 or the like to break lose the little torx screws. Mine went after submerging it ( along with the rest of the frt of my jeep). Luckly that was my only problem. Ditto on junk yard ones. $2.00 a pop.

Mine went the same way[after submerged] $40 for my 96 XJ tps.

I did mine the other night. I couldnt break them loose and ended up stripping out both of them. took the throttle body off, a touch with the dremel and a cutting wheel, and a twist with a flathead did it for me.
