TPS? CPS? problems
Hello, Got a dusey here. My 99 cherokee with the 4.0 I6 is throwing two codes. According to the man at advanced auto parts the codes are for the Throttle Position Sensor and the Crankshaft Position Sensor. The jeep will stutter and hesitate randomly on the road, but starts just fine. Had to replace the starter and ignition coil when first purchased. I understand the TPS usually causes hesitation in motor. I thought the a bad CPS would prevent it from starting. It will not stall out or quit/die. Idle a lil spararratic. Can I get a little advice please!

bout to
it.
p.s. also recently replaced head cover gasket.

It's best if we get the actual exact code numbers, not just a description. There are multiple codes for crank and throttle position sensors and with OBD, the devil is definitely in the details.

Both would be very helpful and I would buy the CPS from a dealer OEM sensor for it. Some should not be bought in the aftermarket, I buy all my sensors OEM for my 99 but JMHO and what I want.
