Question TPS acting up when turning

I got a check engine light for the first time in a while about a week and a half ago. Code was for TPS reading high, and shortly after I started feeling it stutter and stall at idle in gear and sometimes jerk at speed.

Replaced TPS, no fix. Replace again just in case, no fix. Read both new and old TPS, 5.11 at the hot, smooth on the acceleration, and connecting to ground.

Took it to a shop and they tried clearing the data, no fix. They have been looking at it today and determined that the TPS reads wack when the wheel is turned, so apparently something connected to power steering but they can’t seem to find the issue.

Anyone out there ever had this issue and found a culprit?

I'd begin looking at the wiring harnesses between the back of the engine and firewall.

Try unplugging the connector for the clockspring in the steering column. If there is a short in there, all kinds of weird things can happen. Reading high usually mean no ground to the sensor, and you can add one right at the sensor to test.

Ditto on wiggling the harness between the engine and the firewall, especially if it's when moving and turning versus just when you turn the wheel sitting still. If the wiring there is failing, you probably need to replace your motor mounts.

Clock spring was the right direction. Shop stumbled upon it wiggling wires while the engine was idling and grabbed the airbag wire by accident. Makes sense because the airbag light came on at the same time as the TPS code. Airbag is being replaced today, just as well as I was planning on looking into the safety systems soon.

Probably not the airbag itself, but I'd suspect the wires in the clockspring are broken and shorting.
