I've acquired a tow bar for my UK 2000 XJ and need to add the electrics. I could just splice in to the loom but wondered whether the US aftermarket plug-in version will do? (the one that connects behind the panel behind the spare wheel)

Will it work with the normal UK-style 7-pin plug? Does anyone know what the UK dealers did when fitting tow bars before delivery?
