I have spent some time digging on the forums, but didn't find anything specific to my question.
How do I know if this is a factory towing setup?
The part I'm struggling with is how to get the wiring through the firewall, which seems like it should be the easy part.
Help!

You may have to (carefullly) drill a hole through your firewall. When I do that I always use a rubber grommet then silicone the opening/wire from the engine compartment.
