So I was stopped on the side of the road shifting out of 4X when i semi went by and his tire chain broke and a few links went through my back window. I just got my 89 xj and now its winter and now i have a trash bag for a window. Anyone have or know where I can get a new one or any ideas for a good fix. Anything would help the cheapest Ive found is $234. Thanks.

Thats full retail pricing, i'm sure you can do better.
I recently supplied and installed a rear hatch glass with defrost to a local guy for $125. This is not a difficult job, maybe a local junkyard can provide glass and a fellow Jeeper can help install.

thanks I tryed to catch up to the truck but it was on the highway and he was long gone by the time I really figured out what had exactly happened. and I just got it the day before so i didnt even have any coverage. Its been a mess. I will keep trying junk yards most the jeeps at the ones here are under the snow and the glass is already gone. I've been to 4 junkyards so far. but ill keep trying. if theres any jeepers in the durango, co area it would be cool to get some help from someone who knows jeeps???

Hey, here is a thought. Get insurance on it, wait a few weeks, then make a claim for the glass being broken by road debris. Yes, it is slightly dishonest, but you are telling the truth of what happened, just changing the date of when it happened. After all, you have paid way more in insurance premiums over the years than what the insurance company will have to pay out for new glass. Like I said, just a thought.
