Is 80 dollars a lot for one

That's about average. I've replaced solenoids in some Chevy's and Ford's that were 50-80 bucks depending on the transmission. And Welcome to the forum!

Thanks and besides dropping the pan is it a hard job

Its real easy. There's one bolt and one electrical connector.
