I just tightened the bolts holding the torque converter to the flex plate to 28 ft. lbs. Three of the four were very loose.

The flex plate was replaced 42K miles ago and still looks good. I was getting a little bit of noise in that area. Noise is gone now after tightening the bolts.

Does the factory specify loctite on these bolts?

 

yes.. use loctite..

 

Which color loctite?

 

red will be fine just a dab will due..

 

They come from the factory with a blue thread locker. I use blue Loctite. Red holds to strongly and would require heat to get them out.
