Easy to make tool. Old bed frame angle steel and two bolts and nuts.

The two bolts/nuts are 1 1/2 (1.5) inch apart, center to center.

the notches cut on one leg of the angle at the ends is not needed, that notch just happened to be cut there for other use.

flat stock may also be used rather than angle.





1/4-20 bolts, note the first 1/4 inch or so of tip of the bolts has the threads ground down, or filed down . This done to give a nice fit into the holes of the pulley otherwise the bolts are too big diameter to fit. I used grade 8 bolts as lesser, weaker bolts might bend in case you really need to torque it.

 

I like it. I've never had a problem using a strap wrench, but I definitely like it.

 

Knock the bolts loose before you loosen the accessory belt. Works everytime.
