Default Too late for synthetic?

I have a 99 with 112000 miles on it. I live in Texas(always warm weather) and it's my DD. I've read that sometimes it's not good to put synthetic in a high mileage motor because it'll start loosening gunk and good potentially cause problems while other people do not. So is 112000 to high to switch to synthetic?

Hell that's low mileage I would switch and use a Wix or NAPA Gold filter (made by Wix), without a doubt if all is well.

This EXACT same topic with almost the same title was discussed on this very forum just two weeks ago (and many more times before that).

No one needs to go to this extreme, but there is something to be said to doing a search here or on Google. This topic is sincerely a dead horse that has been beaten into a pulp on every automotive forum ever created, and the funniest part about it is no one really knows what the crap they are talking about other than what they've read on said forums.

No def not, I'm very picky about stuff so absorb as much info as I can before I make a decision. But even typing it into this forum will give results, like the thread a week ago you mentioned. The sad parts is it happens everyday for other topics too.
