there is this guy that is willing to sell me 4 30x9.5 tires. he said that there is 7-8/32 of tread left what does this even mean and is that a good deal he wants 250 for the tires and the ten hole rims they are on

He means there is 7/32 on an inch to 8/32 of an inch of tread left ....that's only 1/4 inch. Personally, I wouldn't but them for 250 because I know I can get them cheaper from the junkyard if I wait around for the right truck to come in. My buddy got a set of BF Goodrich A/T 30x9.5s on American Racing Outlaws for $100 with 80% tread. I personally would not buy them, but it's really up to you.

I'd buy some junkyard tires for now if yours aren't oversized until you find a good set. My other buddy's tires on his Yota were showing steel belting. It was bad, so we went to the junkyard and got a pair of 235s for $25 to replace the two worn tires up front and they put them on for another $5.
