Default Tire Studs? Where to get and how to install?

I have Courser Mud Terrain 33x12.50 15s on my cherokee and when it rains I can drive at 15mph and give it the gas and spin the tires. They are pretty bad in rain and I get lots of ice and snow in the winter so I was wondering what kind of studs I should get for them and where can I get them? Im looking to install them myself. I still have over 1/2 inch of tread on them. Any suggestions?

I am not aware of different kinds of studs. Tire shops have a machine too do it, I don't think there is a DIY option.

They are amazing on ice, have had them on several vehicles up in Canada!

Check to make sure they're legal in your province or state. in Ontario they are not.

most shops won't stud used tires and I can guarantee you don't want to try to stick each one in by hand. The gun slightly spreads the rubber hole then jams the stud in

Probably easiest to get some winter or all season tires, mud tires are made for mud.

yeah where i am studded tires are legal from like oct 15th to april 15. but where i work (firestone) we wont stud tires that have been driven on, if any of those little holes have a little rock in them or somthing, the tires gonna pop.

like he said, i would look into some AT's for when your on road ive got dueler AT revo 2's 235/75R15 on my stock 88 and theyre GREAT in the rain, and will get you home in the snow.

If you wanted studded tires the easiest thing to do is take small sheet metal screws and drill them into the tread. Make sure you have plenty of tread and use tiny ones!

This will work great. I have done it many years ago. The only thing is it is time consuming...Tj

I have bfg KM2's and just got back from driving through some pretty knarly stuff

They worked great. I had studded tires on an old Volvo when I lived in Washington state. That car was sooooo much fun. Little 4speed with electronic OD. I miss that car.

To the OP, unless your planning on driving on ice, just get some good mud tires.
