Default tips or advice 5.5 RE install

The RE 5.5 lift finally arrived!!!! I was wondering if ther is anyone who has installed this lift and has tips, tricks, or additions that you would add while I have it torn apart. Than you in advance...

Take your time don't rush it, read the directions over a few times before you start. Be sure you have all the needed tools. Lay out the lift from front to back so everything is easy to find. Most importantly HAVE FUN AND BE SAFE !!!!!

pay close attention to the drop brackets, they're probably the hardest part of the kit to assemble.

everything else is nothing in comparison. oh, and don't install the lower control arms upside down. lol. i didn't, but others have.

This kit did not supply axle shims. What degree do you recommend?

99xjlove installed the long arm version you could try pming him any questions you have. and i would start at 3degree for the shim

Thank you. I recently read up to a 6 deg shim. Would that be too much or shoould I pm xjlove?

yeah you might want to pm him first but i have about 4.5 in the rear of mine and the 3 degree is just right

I had trouble installing control arms on my RC kit. The axle went back towards rear. Later realized I put them on upside down so I backed in garage so I could run ratchet strap to vehicle outside to pull axle in. Worked like a charm.

I don't remember seeing a number on them but I would guess 3-4. It adjusted it enough so that the rubber plug on diff cover leaks fluid. I also installed the t-case drop kit (on a budget), but have found some vibes at 55-60 mph.
