Tie rod end question
I'm trying to price front end parts for my 1999 XJ sport 2WD. The tie rod end descriptions are a bit confusing. Which of these three don't I need?

I'm assuming it is the one at the pitman arm that I don't need/want, but wanted to make sure.
Thanks again as always,
Dro

While I'm at it, figured I would ask to make sure I haven't missed anything. Goal here is to just freshen up the front end. It does have DW at 50+mph. I wanted to start with replacing any of the bushings up front that I could.
So far on the list is:
-Upper and Lower control arm bushings
-Tie rod ends
-Sway bar bushings-
I have a new track bar that I got from Checker Auto parts. Hopefully this will ok for a street/highway only vehicle? Will make changes later when I am ready to set it up as a camping vehicle, right now I just need it safe and reliable for DD use.

Thanks XJRed96. The stabilizer is only about a year old. I was thinking of doing it last. From what I've read it can mask other issues. Was thinking I'd get as much of the other stuff replaced as I can first.

I haven't installed it yet. Getting ready to put it up on stands to do brakes and thought I would do everything at once. Recommend replacing one item at a time?

Actually all 3 are used. Note the one for the driver wheel and pitman arm are the same part number. The other part is the same except the threads are reverse. Also note that none of those parts replace the tie rod that goes to the passenger wheel.
IMO if you are replacing all of the steering components with new parts anyway it might be just as much to get a whole steering upgrade kit from one of our vendors.

hello guys, I'm getting ready to do the same thing, freshen up my front end. I have about 60,000 on a 3.5 lift and a second completely stock XJ both with some front end wobble (not a full blown death wobble yet). I figure I'll just do new bushings and tie rod ends. any other suggestions while i'm at it? any brands I should stay away from? I see a bushing set for 90 bucks on ebay. seems like a lot for a few small hunks of rubber which leads me to believe they should be well worth it. any thoughts?
