Default Ticking when Accelerating in First Gear.

I have a 1991 Jeep Cherokee. 162000kms. When I accelerate from 0-25km it ticks really loud. What is this?

I have the same jeep and same problem. I just posted a thread so if I find anything out ill send you a message. It sounds like valve ticking. Gets faster and louder when accelerating and when in gear? Also mine does it when I'm on an upward slope.

Mine also does it when going uphill. It only does it in first gear. Also once the jeep is warmed up it does not tick anymore.

That's a bit odd. Go to my profile and in my posts read the one titled "valve ticking" I've had quite a bit of possibilities so maybe some will help you
