Default Ticking comes and goes, Slightly lower oil pressure

That ticking I thought was my exhaust leak was most definitely not. I fixed the leak and the ticking still stayed. It only happens after my jeep is warmed up and I come to a stop. it gradually happens more often as I drive it on a trip. Also when I let off the gas my jeep pulls forward a quick second like I would be hitting the gas but then unlocks. Really don't know where to begin other than changing the tranny fluid and oil and seeing what it acts like after that? Oh its a '89 4.0 aw4 too

Welcome to what is the AMC 242ci inline-6 engine. Piston knock and lifter ticks are very common in these engines. I've got an exhaust leak, lifter tick, and poston knock.

This cant be normal lifter ticking, my oil pressure drops a little and my acceleration is like something is bogging my jeep down

All I know is when my jeep made that noise about 7 years ago, the engine blew about an month after...

That could be due to my irresponsibility and young age at the time...

Recent oil change? What brand of filter? What's the reading on the dash gauge when the pressure drops?
