i was driven down the road and right befor my turn this guy well i think he flashed his lights at me, unless it was the road.but anyway i herd a thump the rpms droped 500rpms and then radio, cb cut off. but my cab lights were still on....?So i grabed the wheel and the ps was out so i pulled her off to the side of the road and for some rsn the brakes felt like they were seazed and i had to role to a stop, but after i just put in park and it started right back up anyone got any ideas? its never done this and i think my lights were poweren down also anyone no whats going on it almost kissed dirt with a 8ft hill drop lol

 

it sounds like a your serpentine belt froze.. check all pulleys and the tensioner. dropping 500rpms and no ps tells me the motor was was turning but the belt wasnt moving. something locked up and freed itself. check it from top to bottom.

He did say his brakes were hard. Sounds like the engine died. If a pulley locked it would shred the belt and probably not drop rpm. Sounds like a possible short causing everything to go haywire. The pop may have been a backfire through the intake.
