Default Thud/knock from wheelwell.

So, I replaced my calipers, and everything on the rear brakes. Now I have a knock comming from the front driverside area. It happens when I drive slow up to about 20mph. Thud-thud-thud. Seams like it accurs once per wheel rev. I thought maybe it was a problem with the caliper, because I have to use spacers to get the bolt to tighten without spinning, i think i stripped the 2 last threads on the knuckle. I checked it after install by tugging and making sure it was on tight, which it was.

Does anyone have a clue as to what else can the knocking?

Btw: the thud goes away when I turn also when I put some pressure on the brakes.

Loose pad(s), warped rotor, loose caliper.

Tugging on it may not be the most definitive way to check it.

You may have answered your own question... do a proper repair on the stripped threads in the knuckle and see if that solves the problem.

I removed the caliper and found that the treads on the knuckle were worn down so much that i could almost pull the bolt out. They were so destroyed that re threading them would require a bolt that wouldn't fitt through the caliper "slide cylinder"(I have no idea that they are called). So I cut the head of the bolt and welded it to the knuckle and used a nut on the end.

Just a tip if anyone ever run in to the same issue and don't want to get a new knuckle.

Another reason to upgrade to WJ brakes & steering.
