Throwing codes after transmission swap (No Start)
Need some help on getting my Jeep running here hopefully someone can help me out.
I have a 2000 XJ I just swapped a NV3550 (manual) into it. It was an AW4 (auto). Overall the swap went well. If you have any questions feel free to ask. But now my problem is she wont start. The starter turns over the motor but it doesn't even act like its trying to start ie. sputtering ect. now I bypassed my NSS so that the ECM thinks the trans is in neutral my understanding of this would be if it was just unplugged it wouldn't crank at all. But I did not try to start is without it bypassed so im not sure. Its throwing 2 codes both having to deal with the transmission (go figure)
P0753
-Shift Solenoid, A electrical
P0743
-Torque Converter, Clutch solenoid, circuit electrical
Im assuming these have to do deal with the extra connecters I have from the manual not having senors. Is there anyway to bypass these sensors?
Any help would be great its killing me after 3 days of work being so close to driving it.

Hi. No Expert here but...What did you do about the CPS? Flywheel slots the same as the Torque plate was? I don't know what year trany/flywheel you have, but I wonder if the cps for the "coil pack" years might be different as well.

Those two codes wont keep your truck from starting. Without getting the correct pcm for a 4.0/manual truck, you wont be able to get rid of them.
Double check to make sure the nss is telling the pcm that the trans is in Park/Nuetral (remember, it still thinks its an auto)
Double check to make sure the CPS is functioning properly. (i.e. correct flywheel, correct sensor location, its plugged in, wires arent pulled out, etc)
On the edit: if it will crank, but not fire off - check the cps. If it wont turn over at all, check your nss and what the pcm is actually seeing.

I'd want to know that the manual and the auto used the same CPS. Of course you might think so, but I'd want to rule that one out. Please let us know!

you might be able to get the ECM reprogrammed into a manual trans ECM. Not sure if its possible though, might have better luck finding a junk yard 5 speed ECM and getting it re-flashed for your mileage.

if yer flywheel has more or less teeth than what the pcm normally recognizes it wont start. youll have to swap pcm's with somthin that had a man. trans
