I wanted to get a tb spacer but, i read a thread in another forum saying that a throttle body spacer is useless on a gm 350. has anyone seen any actual benefit from it on a 4.0L? my buddy has a 96ZJ with tb spacer and he said that he's not sure if he has got his money's worth.

It depends on which motor you are talking about....
A carb spacer or throttle body spacer will add some measure of power to an engine with a carb or TBI injection. But the only use on a multi-port motor is too empty your wallet.

I put one on my 97 TJ when it was still running and it ran better in the mid...but it was still gutless. My 00 XJ has one and it seems to let me have more power in the mid range of 2k to around 3.5k or a little above. It's up to you though, I like mine.

IMO you would be better off spending your money on a bored out throttle body. You should be able to find one for about $100 bucks.
I bought a TB spacer awhile back and could not tell any difference at all when it was on. Then I decided to get the bored throttle body, headers, and exhaust and could definitely tell a difference. That was because I did all 3 components at one time so I can't exactly say how much the bored TB would help out by itself.
But I wouldn't spend the money on another TB spacer.

well, i'm getting my tb bored at leigh performance machine, will have a CAI by next week, already "INSTALLED" a "HIGH FLOW" catalytic converter, and my Flowmaster 40 is supposed to be at my front door today. so, i wonder if a tb spacer will contribute after that.
though some people said that they have experienced an initial, low end lag.

I have an airraid TB spacer, LOVE IT! before i added it i had a K&N FIPK 2, RE TB and thats it! that alone made a big difference, once i added the spacer it was even greater. I have it on a 95ZJ, It whistles when you step on it and back off the gas slowly! i had a guy ask if i has a turbo once! but it wont be as loud as one

i got my throttle body of of CL for $10 and it gave me alittle bit of mid range power but thats about it. if you can get one cheap do it, then get your TB bored as well as your TB itself to get a really good gain.

I did the highflow cat and super 40 and got much better throttle response and about 1 mpg better also. It was defiently worth it. And went 2.5 inch from header pipe back

The TB Spacer on a 4.0 liter will only give the air distance to travel. The idea/concept behind the carb/TB Spacer is to give the air and fuel more time to mix (atomize). With a direct injected engine the fuel and air do not meet until they are in the cylinder so the additional distance provided by the spacer is really not needed.
