Default Throttle body positioning sensor?

So, lately my jeep has been having a hard time starting. It rolls over, is getting enough fuel, and the battery and whatnot is good. sometimes it will start right up and other times I have to roll it over a few times. Holding the pedal to the floor or pumping the pedal will help once in a while, but not always. I can spray starting fluid into the butterfly and clean off the sensor and it will start for a few days but then I have the same issues. I'm thinking it's the tbps or maybe the crank sensor... Any ideas?

Oh, and when it's hot outside and idling in park or sitting still in drive, it will flood itself and die. It can idle in neutral all day long with no issues. Don't know if it's related or not... Thanks!

Cap and rotor and plugs about a year ago, fuel filter in february when I did the pump, and air filter was new about 6,000 ago.

I would start with those things as they are yearly maintenance anyway. Take the distributor cap off and check its and the rotors condition. A CPS will cause a no start issue but it doesn't sound at all like the TPS. How do you know it's flooding when you're idling in drive?

I also redid the intake gasket because it was leaking and the exhaust because the manifold was cracked about a month ago. That helped. Thought the problem was fixed, but it started doing it again.

I think it's flooding because you can smell gas really bad. when it sits for a while after it dies, it will start right up. I've checked the fuel rail and the rest of the fuel system. Pressures are fine.

Maybe other guys on here will disagree but it sounds like ignition system to me...I would do a tune up and see how it runs. Especially if the idle is a little rough.

I don't think it's cap and rotor. I've checked it and seems fine. It doesn't seem to fit with the spraying into the intake and it running fine for a couple days...

I'm having the same problem. But I found out it was is my tps going bad. Haven't changed it yet...but look into it more test what you can before you drop cash on a tps.

x2 IAC! (but I wouldn't rule out the TPS either. Mine both went bad at the same time, roughly.)

The MAP sensor, IAT sensor, coolant temp sensor, O2 sensors, etc all play into air/fuel mix. I said I don't think TPS because symptoms of a faulty TPS are typically low, high or surging or fluctuating engine speeds at idle or in drive. The only way to know for sure is to hook it up to an OBDII reader which most parts stores will do for free and/or get a multimeter and test resistance/ohms at each sensor. I still think you should give it a tune up though
