For those who have removed and replaced the cylinder head

98 XJ 4.0L

This step is in the installation part on the process, My question is how often is the linkage out of adjustment after R2'ing (remove and reinstall) the cylinder head. Should i expect mine to be out of adjustment?

(20) The automatic transmission throttle linkage
and cable must be adjusted after completing the
engine cylinder head installation (refer to Group 21,[/LEFT]
Transmissions for the proper procedures).

I have a FSM but cannot find the exact paragraph for adjusting the automatic transmission throttle linkage. If anyont has a FSM, could you give me a page number. I have the FSM for a 97.

I'm guessing that's the kickdown cable. Not sure if there is an actual procedure for determining if it's right. I usually just adjusted mine until I stopped thinking, "God, I wish it would downshift", when accellerating. Should be a simple screw/nut adjustement on the bracket at the throttle body linkage.
