I am not sure I know enough to say in regards to which weight to use,I have used some of the additives with good results, like Restore and Lucas, something to consider.

I use Valvoline Racing 20-50. It is formulated for racing engines that will burn a little oil, no matter how fresh they are. It will absolutely leave no deposits on the plugs no matter how long you run them. I use in all my vehicles and have great oil pressure.

Im also running 20w50 in my 96, it seems to quiet down the engin a bit too.

That it does. I also think that it will make the engine last longer. The light oil formulations will work, but they were intended for one major goal - milage. It was one of the little tricks Detroit used to up their milage ratings.
