Default Thermostat Issue

While replacing my valve cover gasket, I moved the heater hose that sits closest to the top of the cover. When I tightened the hose back up it began to leak, so I replaced it. Now the thermostat is not registering any temperature changes at all, I have refreshed the connection and still no change. The path of least resistance is to swap the thermostat and see if there is any change on the gauge in the dash but can anyone think of anything else to look at if this does not correct the issues? This is not a DD, only around the hood and house stuff on the weekends, it has not overheated and never has since I have had it. Thanks in advance.

The temperature sending unit, for the gauge, on my 91 is at the rear of the block between the valve cover and fuel rail, you probably knocked the wire off while working on the valve cover.

I agree. Check the connection to this guy. Just got done fixing an overheating issue on my MJ. If it's lose you can tighten it up with a 13mm deep socket.

Great call guys, I knocked the wire off of the sensor. I snapped it back on and took it for a drive and all is well. Thanks again.
