Default Temp gauge not working question

I have a 91 jeep Cherokee Xj says Laredo on the side has gauge read out not just the light but i just bought vehicle and there is one coolant sensor on the front which is for computer correct? And the one on the manifold area is missing there just a bolt there and I found a black with yellow wire with a boot on it that looks like it would go on the temp sensor? I'm attaching pics please let me know I don't want to run hot or not know my temp

If I am not mistaken the sensor for the gauge on your year is on the rear of the head and not on the manifold.

Fixed it the gauge was disconnected from were valve cover gasket was replaced and wire was tucked back so it would not get dirty. Now onto why my jeep doesn't have a electric fan has the wiring but no fan lol

Someone probably just removed it. Get a new one. They're cheap.
