Hey guys,
As i am working on this new jeep i picked up and going through it, the fuel system seems to be working fine. I think at this point maybe just a cleaner is all that is needed. Is techron still considered numero uno or are there newer products that have replaced it.
(where i live and come from, techron was always thought to be best)
thanks!

Seafoam has become very popular, but I've always heard good things about Techron. I think either one is probably fine for regular maintenance cleaning as a fuel additive. You might want to log on to bobistheoilguy for opinions. There are some pretty sharp people there when it comes to automotive lubricants, chemicals and such.

The best without a doubt is BG 44K. It's usually only available at shops or dealerships. Incredible stuff. Add a can to the fuel tank and it cleans injectors and carbon from the intake.Originally Posted by wildbill1

Well worth it. I have used it in my '95 XJ and '77 Grand Prix(when I had it). It works. As far as best I don't know.

It's a matter of preference. BG 44K blows Seafoam away. I've used BG for over 20 years and then tried Seafoam. Mostly alcohol is all it is. If you used BG once, it would become your preference.Originally Posted by tiwvr1

I like to use BG44K for a fuel system that actually has "symptoms". I agree with cruiser54 that it is very good stuff.
But for preventive treatments, I alternate between Techron and Seafoam. I can get both of these pretty cheap when they are on sale.
I run one can of either Techron or Seafoam fuel system treatment every 3-4 months.

I used seafoam to clean my injectors, carb cleaner for the intake where the injectors seat and BG 44K in the tank.
Threw the extra seafoam in the tank, too.
That was a 425 mile tank of gas at 70mph!
Good stuff!
