TCU and Kickdown Cable

TCU and Kickdown Cable
So, In all my excitment of getting a new header (a month and a half ago) I seem to have misplaced the bracket for my kickdown cable. It's the one that mounts on the TB. My question is, if I unplug my TCU will I need the cable anyways? I will be going to a junkyard to get a bracket soon, I just want to know if I can drive it at all.
