No, I supper doubt it. Different computer system. The 87 has a Renix ECU. On the OBD-I system in the 94, they then call it a PCM. That said, I'm not positive....

The TCU gets info, then controls three solenoids in the trany. I gather people have trouble with the solenoids and the wiring...Also there is a fuse. (also the previous owner of my Jeep was sold a TCU)...ALSO, where it grounds can be a problem. In my signature Cruiser mentions that in "Ground Refreshing"

when in drive it takes off in 1st then changes to 2nd but then 3rd then od withen 5 seconds and i have to change gears manually but it has no power but with tcm unplugged it has all its power

I wouldn't be surprised if someone suggested checking/adjusting your TPS. Cruisers instructions are in my Sig. A bit tecky...New ones need adjusted also Btw.
