Can anyone tell me if a tcase from a 2000 xj 4.0 auto will fit into a 96 4.0 auto?

Thanks. My front output bearing is going bad and i found a used one out of a 2000 for $125 shipped. Local yard wants $350. 😁

The one from the local yard is out of a 96 4.0 auto just like mine. From the pics I've seen of the one I found its looks the same. Just wasn't sure about spline count.

I may be mistaken but dosent the 96 have the long extension housing, and the 2000 have the short output housing wiyh no extension

Well that might be a good thing because I'm changing from a turfy five to an 8.25 at the same time. As well as a 3.5 lift.

Nah. Just been collecting parts for the past year or so to put on this beast when I got it to running like it should. Coil springs, bastard pack, all new upgraded front end and bumpers and Exo all ready to go after more bugs worked out.
