This may be a stupid question but I'm getting conflicting answers,

What is the correct way to shift into 4WD?
One person is telling me with the jeep stopped in N, another tells me moving???

Shifting into 4 high range can be done while driving at any reasonable speed. I just take my foot off the gas while rolling and pop it into 4x4. I once shifted into 4x4 going up a steep hill, with my foot on the gas pretty heavily and it made some terrible sounds but it still shifted in lol. To shift into 4 low range you should be in neutral rolling at a speed of no greater than 5 mph.

At any legal speed, let off the gas, make your shift, tap gas and let off, then tap again. To go from 4H to 2H do the same.

That's how I do it. Also works at speeds that are not legal.

Correct. I did some of my own testing and proved that when I was at the dealership, with the factory service rep in the new Jeep!!
