Default TC Lockup Issues, Clicking, Jerking

I'm getting very frustrated by this. Okay; I have a 98 Cherokee Sport 4x4 i6, and I'm having issues with what I suspect is my Torque converter unlocking when it shouldn't be.

I will be driving down the street at 10-15mph, and I will suddenly feel my rpms drop and will hear a loud couple of clicks. If I hit my throttle a little, it will stop clicking and my RPMs will rise to where they are supposed to be, almost like I have no response until a certain rpm.

I changed my fluid today (forgot to check my solenoids) and it didn't help. I'm suspecting TPS or Brake switch... Or possibly a ****ed TC.

This is driving me insane, and I drive for a living so I will appreciate any help.

I'd suspect the TPS as well. Might try this too:

I'm just not sure about the TPS. I forgot some diagnosis info. When I would disconnect the TCU, it wouldn't do it as much. It would still do it, but I think that isn't related to diagnosis simply because I would, by hand, keep it in first for longer so the rpms stay higher at all times.

I'll be going to the boneyard tomorrow and grabbing a couple of things to try.

TC won't lock at all with the TCU disconnected. Try adjusting that cable, it changes the line pressure and shift quality.

For sure will in the AM. Will the TC not locking cause what I am describing? It's strange. It's like a loud lockup and clicking noise coming from the front. If I don't hit the gas, it will keep clicking. The reason I think its a TC locking issue is because of the RPM drop when it happens.

Sounds to me like you Jeep wants you to be driving faster than 10-15 mph.

I'm disappointed in my stupidity but also delighted by the result. The TV Cable adjustment worked. Really can't believe it. Shifts and drives great. Thank you!
