Question TC flushed but still in PT 4x4?

I had an issue with the Selec Trac sticking in Part 4x4 when I am quickly on the fly shifting to Hi4 from 2HI when it rained. I noticed when I make a turn in the Parking lot the front wheels are hopping which means it was in PT the whole time and not 4HI?

I flushed the TC thinking it may have been low pressure from aged oil, but this is still happening.

What could it be if it is not going into 4HI?

All 4 tires the same size, brand and pressure?

Here's how the factory suggests you shift the transfer case and I've been doing this since these things were new and I worked at the dealership. Quoted from the owner's manual.

"To engage, shift the transfer case lever from 2H to 4H while the vehicle is moving at any legal speed". I let off the gas, throw the lever, and then tap the gas and let off.

4L position: " To engage, slow the vehicle to 2-3 MPH , shift the transmission to Neutral, then shift the transfer lever to the right and pull firmly rearward to 4L".

you should be able to tell the difference between 4hi and 4lo, just by the torque it gives in lo range.

on a select trac (242) t-case, you have two 4hi settings, one is full time and the other is part time.

which one did you have it in?

On the selector I had it in 2HI? It obviously didnt disengage but I thought I had it in 4HI (even if it was in 4HI it shouldnt wheel hop like that??)
