Default Tans mount nut stripped???

I was going to install my SYE yesterday. I went to take out the trans mount nuts (the one's in the cross member). Only to find out they are just 4 globs of rust. The nuts are all rusted and ive already stripped one of them. First of all, can someone tell me what size they are? Because they are so rusted i cant tell. Second, how should i go about getting a stripped and rusted trand mount nut off? I have a new trans mount waiting to be put in.

Mine are 13mm. Do you have one of those nut extractor things you can pound on there and impact it? Maybe use some of your favorite rust penetrating spray?

Ok yeah i used a 13mm. I guess the nuts are in such ruff shape, they can be easily stripped. Ive been spraying them for the past week with PB blaster. Ill have to go buy a nut extractor.

I dont really have anyway to break them off. I cant get any tool inside the little cavity in the cross member exept a socket. I wouldnt have to weld the new one on.... the new mount comes with new studs and nuts already on it.

Where did you get your new trans mount from? and did it work alright when you put it in? i just recently changed mine and I am geting crazy vibrations through the car. I am wondering if i should purchase the oem one or wait to see if the one i got will break in. Thanks

I got mine from Rustys expt its actually a DayStar poly mount. For the first week it shook my teeth out. Now after about 2 weeks i can hardly feel it. I get the occasional interiot trim vibe at certain speeds, but i had those before too.

Unbolt the trans mount from the tranny and unbolt the crossmember from the truck. That will make it easier to work on.

So when you say your teeth were shaking the first few weeks then went away i take it the mount broke it self in? I appreciate that information... that is exactly what i needed to know. I ended up taking a look at the motor mounts and both of those were bad too, so i went back to Autozone and swapped those out as well. The vibration isnt as bad now but clearly still there. I have my heart set on it breaking itself in soon otherwise i am going to be stuck with a jeep im not happy to drive. Thank you guys for taking the time to reply to me.
