ya x1 x2 is the same on those there is no pin its in the latch mechanism

ya i have had a few of them xj's that were hit and miss, just un plug the plug on the latch under the cover and the light will go out.

sounds good! and i cant jist replace the sensor?

no the sensor is in the assembly its not worth replacing. i just un plug the sensor and spray the key hole and assembly with lithium grease. ull kno when its not closed cuz it will have play when u close it. those sensors always go im sure if u took the assembly out and soaked it in trany fluid for a night it would work. its easier to unplug it and spray it with grease to keep the latch or assembly from seizing and not being able to lock it. xj's and key cylinders and interior sensors are brutal.
