Exclamation T stat housing cracked!!!

What do i do now! i noticed a slight leak at the bottom of the housing, so i went to tighten down and it cracked. I am going camping this weekend and i need my jeep. did i brake it by tightening it or do you think it was warped? Also if you know where i can find another one i would be grateful....Thanks

You can replace the t-stat housing if you mean the piece that the heater hose and upper hose connects to and covers the t-stat itself..

They're cheap. Mine did the same thing. For whatever reason they are made out of lightweight crap and get brittle over time from the heat.

Look around, I had the same problem with mine due to improper t-stat placement...DOH!! Some auto parts store sell cast iron ones, and they are alot stronger. I got one from Auto Zone, and it is WAY beefier than the OEM part that was on my rig!! HTH!!

Make sure the t-stat is seated in the groove so it doesn't happen again.

Autozone has them. I upgraded mine to have a Temperature sensor as well. It came with the gasket too. $13.
