t-case shifting
I have a 99 xj. When going from 2H-4H it shifts fine, but from 4H-N-4L it won't budge. A little WD40 helps, but doesn't last long. Should I just grease up the linkage or adjust it, or simply get new linkage?

theres a bracket that drops the linkage it made mine shift much easier. Also have you readjusted since dropping the tc ?

Here's how the factory suggests you shift the transfer case and I've been doing this since these things were new and I worked at the dealership. Quoted from the owner's manual.
"To engage, shift the transfer case lever from 2H to 4H while the vehicle is moving at any legal speed". I let off the gas, throw the lever and then tap the gas and let off.
4L position: " To engage, slow the vehicle to 2-3 MPH , shift the transmission to Neutral, then shift the transfer lever to the right and pull firmly rearward to 4L".

Thanks for the quick responses fellas. I did not readjust it after the drop. And rolling slow I am able to throw it into 4L, not with ease, but it works. I'll tweak the linkage today and see what that does. Otherwise I'll have to take a look for one of those brackets.
