T-Case question
Ok, I went and changed all of my fluids...and found a leak.
Looks like the T-Case is leaking, but I have not figured out where yet. Sad that there were no leaks prior to...but I guess it was just so low that it was not leaking anymore.
Where are the most common places on the transfer case to leak and how hard of a job is it to repair most transfer case leaks?
As you can tell from the question, I am a 4x4 noob....
Thanks in advance.

most common is rear output seal, if you overfill it that can cause leakes. same with differentals. don't plug the filler till the fluid is right below the hole. people like to jam all the fluid they can and shove the plug in quick, thinking the more fluid the better. but not the case.
put up some pics and we could tell ya whats leaking

You never even said if it was the front or rear of the t/c that was leaking much less if it was near the rear driveshaft or near the drain plug. When you post up the pics give us a little more info please.

Great!A WOLF pursued a Lamb, which fled for refuge to a certain Temple. The Wolf called out to him and said, "The Priest will slay you in sacrifice, if he should catch you." On which the Lamb replied,"It would be better for me to be sacrificed in the Temple than to be eaten by you." -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------DIY china travel City Trip City Tours china travel china tour
Anyways, sometimes it leaks at the output seals (where the shafts go in) and sometimes it leaks right in the middle of the case 1/2 where the two sides mate together. I've seen some leak at the speedometer gear hole. This is from a bad o-ring which is easily repaired. The speedometer hole is above the rear output housing. It's round with a wire going into it.
