Default T-Case Indicator Bezel Replacement

Ok Guys, I know this should be simple but I am struggling. I got a transfer case indicator bezel from the JY to replace my broken one. I cant seem to figure out how to put it on. It looks like if I force it over the shifter handle, it will break just like my old one. I cant figure out how to get the hadle off of the shifter either and my Jeep service manual is no help.
I searched on here and couldnt find anything but I may not be calling it by the right name.

Thanks

i need to see a pic of what your doing but it should just slide over the handle and just click in, i just took mine off like 8 times and again today to just replace a part.

Thats what I thought too but the plastic/rubber handle is about 1/4" wider than the opening in the bezel. I would have to force it. I think this must be how the previous ower broke the original one.

usually you can pop the handle by just pulling it, i know this may seem hard to do, but it will come off, maybe give it a twist and pull.

I pulled and jerked and twisted and cussed and still nothing! I finally got aggravated enough to carefully force the bezel over the handle. I managed to get it on without breaking it.
For future reference, it's not as hard as I thought, if you take your time!

Thanks Guys
