That sounds good. Most folks use the same fluid as they use in their transmission (Dexron III/Mercon).
Are you familiar with the TC drain/refill protocol...remove fill plug before removing the drain plug?

On my "new" White 90 w/242, when I pulled the fill plug fluid stormed out. I quick put it back, still have a spot on the driveway. I suppose it's not imposable for tranny fluid to leak in there, Idk.

Perhaps someone filled it while it was removed from vehicle, or rear end was on ramps.

Was my first thought as well. I'm pretty ignorant here. PO had it rebuilt, so "on the bench" is a possibility.
Couple of questions. Is it even possible for trans fluid to make it into the T-C, and second, should I go ahead and drain/fill?
Just now thinking, a break-in move might be to over fill it so as the first drain is ...robust!

It's not likely that the transmission would leak into the TC. There's a cavity in the TC adaptor between the trans and the TC with a drain hole in the bottom of it. If the TC input shaft seal leaks or the trans output shaft seal leaks the AFT will pour out of the drain hole.
How long has that TC been since rebuild/new fluid? You may just want to remove the refill plug and let the excess fluid drain out to the top of the refill hole.

Thanks. Yea, Idk how long. Maybe I'll do that and have a good look at it decide from there. IIRC it looked pretty dark, what shot out onto the driveway.
