SYE Question
I have been thinking about getting a SYE for my 98 cherokee with a 4.5 inch lift, but not because of vibrations. I dont have any serious vibe issues but I figure it would be a good idea to keep the shaft from falling out while rock crawling.
Has anyone seen this happen or have had it happen to there XJ? I am just trying to figure out if this is somethigng that I should be concerned with at all or if it is a rare thing under some exterme flex of the rear axle housing? Is this a waste of money if I dont have vibrations?
Thanks!

So i guess then having a trans drop reduces the angle slighlty preventing the rear drive line from having room to slip out?
Still like to hear if anyone has had this happen it seems people are only adding trans drops or sye to prevent the vibes in which case I probably don't need either.

ive had my shaft fall out a few times on the trail. with 5 inchs on 33's . not a fun time . and i also didnt have a brutal vibe. i went with a sye from advanced adapters and got a junkyard front shaft and lengthend it to work in the rear (remember new ujoints ).ill never go back its awesome havent had a porblem yet. also if u ever wanna go taller you've already got it and u'll have no problems.might hafta legthen the shaft again. but if u wanna have a cheap and easy fix trans drops do work. cuz i had one. but i upgraded to longarms and a full belly pan from rubicon express. and i couldnt use my existing trans drop cuz the bellypan/new crossmember. so for those few months without it i lost my shaft. so do u wat works for u.
also props on the kit. u have now entered the relm of madness haha

no it was fine with the drops in. but was always lerking in the back of my head while wheeeling cuz ive herd all the horror storys. then that day came the day after i put my new kit in and went wheeling. then BANG there she was on the ground. so if ur running 4.5'' u'll be fine (was for me) but ur on pretty thin ice. cuz i never thought it would happen either . that inch goes a long way tho . but do wat fits ur needs trans drop r easy . but sye are freaking awesome. also while i was swoppin in the sye i put chev s10 gears and chain in mine quick easy and huge upgrade. since ur already there (chains/gears about a 1/4'' wider ) the beefier the better hahah . good luck
