i want to get a 3in lift and was wondering if i had to get a sye kit

 

At 3" you should be fine without it.

 

Three inches is OK without it. But you will need to set up your drive line properly. If you are using a shackle for that lift, it will give you drive line vibes and you will need to shim the pinion back to the original angle.
